When do you need a lawyer?

A Visa File Kit and the free Visa Match tool are designed for standard applications where you meet the requirements and your documents are straightforward. You need a lawyer when:

  • You received a Requerimiento (request for further evidence) or a denial
  • Your income is complex (multiple sources, business ownership, irregular history)
  • You are applying as a company director or business owner
  • You are appealing a refusal
  • You need someone to formally represent you before the Spanish authorities

XtraSpain is not a law firm

XtraSpain is an immigration information and tools platform. Alisa Zinko is a Licensed Immigration Professional, not an abogada. The Visa File Kit, Visa Match tool, Done for You services, and Spain Move Club all provide general information and coordination: they do not constitute legal representation. If your situation requires an abogado, this is the firm we refer to.

Why we list only one firm

We have worked with this firm personally and trust their work. Recommending multiple firms we have not vetted is not something we are willing to do. If you have a case and are unsure whether you need a lawyer, use the complex case referral service and Alisa will assess your situation first.
